Warning: I'm using this blog as a journal to document the upbringings of my girls. If you don't care to read about the gory details of toddler-hood, please don't read any further.
Binkies: Lucy is on medication for impetigo on her lip. So, I decided to take the plunge and get rid of the binkie all-together last night. I know I'm the reason she's still using it...I just haven't had the courage to deal with the whining and crying that comes along with weaning her. The night went well until she woke up at 5:00 a.m. She didn't get back to sleep for a good forty-five minutes. So, I'm expecting a difficult day ahead. Please pray for my patience:)
Chin laceration: Here's a picture of Lucy's chin soon after she had her stitches. Yesterday, I noticed that it was pretty swollen and red. I won't make you look at a picture of it now. So yesterday I scheduled an appointment for her to see the doctor this afternoon. The nurse called back and wanted to see her sooner. It turns out that the wound is not healing properly and is a bit infected. So, we're off to see the plastic surgeon next week. I'm hoping she doesn't have too noticeable of a scar after all of this.
Well, that's the exciting (if you can call it that) news in my life today. Don't say I didn't warn you. Have a great day!

Poor Lucy, poor Mom! You will get through all of this!
You are too funny! I like the warning, And hey it's the bottom of her chin, no one will see it anyway.
I appreciate all details, even the gory ones. I thought the same as Heidi, good spot for a scar, and a story to tell her children and grandchildren.
Yikes! Thats the first time I've seen the damage! Poor thing! I hope the potty training, binkie weaning, and infection all start feeling/working better soon! I think you deserve a break, tell Bob he should give you the day off for pampering and he can watch the girls ;)
Awwwww, poor girl. I hope she heals up scar-free. And this will be a story she can tell HER kids...
I have a huge scar clear across my face - no worries it does not hurt one's ability to have a healthy self esteem ;)
